ANALYSIS
A good opening week for the system. All Good Bets won versus the spread (4-0) and 3 of the Straight Up bets lost by a margin of less than one point, otherwise we could have been 11-3. There have been some surprise teams so far (NY Giants, Jaguars) as well as some real disappointments (KC Chiefs). Injuries continue to mount and should be factored into projections for future weeks as well (Chicago - no QB).

ANALYSIS
All 'Good Bets' and 'Great Bets' won versus the spread (4-0) and a decent week for the Straight up bets. Injuries and turnovers continue to play a big factor in the outcomes of games.

ANALYSIS
A couple of late, late comebacks (S.F. 49ers & St. Louis Rams) created a crazy finish to the week. Damn those prevent defenses!! Certain teams are starting to surprise (Giants, Chargers) and some are big disapointments (Packers, Bills).

Can somebody please figure out the Packers? Houston is playing really well and is a good young team that bears watching. Speaking of Bears, they have no quarterback. Oakland also looks like they are done for the year as well. Let's see if the Giants can pick up where they left off.

Some stats have been true for a long time so there is something to them. I had read that historically the Giants had done awful after the bye week and THEY DID. It looks like the Chiefs have started to turn things around as well. Some teams are streaky, and will start to play towards their calibre after a while.

Wickedly difficult week, not alot of good variances with the line and many upsets. Even though the Engine picked New England, I had a gut feeling that Pittsburgh was going to win. Sometimes you just have to override and go with your instinct...

I think recent factors like 'must win' and desparation also must be factored into the prognostication process ie: Buffalo, Cincinnati and Tampa Bay HAD to win to keep their season hopes alive. This desparation can only last a short while though...

Now we start to see which teams are the real contenders versus the pretenders. If Indy had a defense they would be unstoppable...Look for Pittsburgh to make a stumble, they have been winning by smaller and smaller margins.

It looks like it will be Philadelphia versus New England in the Super Bowl the way those two teams are playing right now...Now we start to see which teams are the real contenders versus the pretenders. Watch out for the Buffalo Bills and Carolina Panthers, they are both coming on real strong...Look for Pittsburgh to fall against the Jets this week.

If only Kansas City had a defense they would be great...Some teams gave it a good try but just cannot seem to beat better teams in the big games (NY Jets, Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings)

The last week of the season is upon us and it is one of the most difficult weeks to handicap. Some teams are playing for their lives and some are playing out the string and some are resting their star players. Treat the stats with a grain of salt and save up your bets for the playoffs when all teams are going full throttle!
